Getting there…

This time next week I will be on holiday.  For Thanksgiving.  I will be at a friend’s house, doing prep for our big meal on the Thursday.  I will also be getting justifiably excited about flying to the Bahamas on the Sunday morning.  And relaxing.

However, for now, I am at work (back after a couple of days of working from home to kick this silly cough into touch – it’s a work in progress but improving), working through the mountain.  The light at the end of the tunnel is just about visible over the top (and we’re all fairly sure it isn’t an oncoming train…) and we are getting there.  At last.

Now who else needs a strong drink…

High Points

Today had a very significant high point – I don’t have pneumonia, so sayeth the doctor.  Which is, apparently, a GOOD thing.  However, I have got a virus which is making me cough, giving me a fever and basically making life pretty miserable.  I’m meant to be going to the ballet tomorrow night (the Boston Ballet is doing Swan Lake and it’s mean to be FANTASTIC) but currently my thinking is that if I am coughing this much it wouldn’t be fair on anyone else.

Currently sitting at the client location waiting to see if an email is going to come in.  Which it might not.  I’m giving up and going home to cough shortly.

Woe Woe Woe…

… is me.  Long week.  At least it’s Thursday.  It IS Thursday, isn’t it?

At least Thanksgiving is sort of in sight.  Well… it will be once the mountain of work gets whittled down to a stump.  Then it will be glorious.  In the meantime… onwards we go…

Cough cough cough

Urgh.  It’s happened.  I’m sick.  Go on without me, I can’t take it…  Well, I have a cold.  Or something.  I was pretty sure it was just a cold and then today my voice dropped a couple of octaves so, Houston, we may have a problem…

Just got to keep taking vitamin C and nice meds until it goes away.  The good news is that if I don’t talk, move or get stressed, I don’t cough at all.  The bad news is that I have two jobs to try to sign off this week, about twenty phone meetings, an emissions sticker to get for my new car (shiny) and various client contacts to meet in person.  Hmmm…

Roll on Sunday…

But on the other hand…. SHINY NEW CAR!!
