Urgh

… That is pretty much all I have to add tonight. I have three clients at fever pitch trying to get to done within the next eight days (well, two in the next eight days – one by Thursday, one next Wednesday, and the other in a couple of weeks), plus another two clients in planning. Why was it a good idea to be a manager again?? Oh yeah, job satisfaction and career development… Hmmm.

It’s been lovely having visitors over the past two weekends – I got to play tour guide, ate far too much ice cream and had a fabulous time! And I WILL put some pictures up in a few days. Just not tonight. Tonight is for sleeping…

Arrivals and Annoyances

Note, before I say anything else, that the arrival in no way relates to the annoyance!  Romie arrived safe and well (although after 90 minutes getting through immigration and baggage reclaim I was starting to wonder whether she had decided to teach the immigration officer how to spell the ‘proper’ way and been taken off for interogation) and is now tucked up in the spare room after having a good dose of tea and toast.  And I am trying to do some work.  Or I would be, if the work that was promised for me to review was ready…  Thus the annoyance.  Sigh.  Best laid plans and all that.

Tomorrow morning I am on holiday, which is rather lovely.  Sadly I have an 8.30am call with a partner about a client, which hopefully won’t take too long.  And then I am freeeeeeee.  Well, sort of.  Unless clients call me.  They can leave me messages, though.  I will be shopping.  And sightseeing.  And being an awesome tour guide.  And having a large cocktail of some sort…  Bliss.

Madness…

… whoever said that busy season ended at the end of March was LYING!!!  This is not the case.  Yesterday (Monday) I got up at 5.30am to go to a networking thing (fantastic event, by the way, but still – 5.30am) and was working until after 10pm.  Today I was in the office by 8.30am and am still here at 9.21pm.  Obviously there was time at other locations in the day (I mean client sites, I’m not talking about leisure activities!) but it’s been a couple of very long ones.

Happily I have a visitor arriving on Friday (thus the mad dash to get through as much as possible before she arrives) so this weekend is going to be rather lovely.  Personally, at this point I’m hoping there is sleep in it.  And cocktails.  And a little teeny tiny bit of ice cream…

Get ready…

… Someone got a new lense for her camera.  Lots of pictures coming soon!  You have been warned…
In other news – Newport was rainy but amazing (complete with spa visit and masseuse horrified by the tension in my shoulders.  Horrified), and work is insane.  Welcome to April…  Under a week until visitor number one of 2014, though – the countdown is on!
